Hotel RRR

What to eat: Briyani

Where: Hotel RRR, Gandhi Square, Mysuru

Verdict: After an usual tourist's day, we were returning back to our hotel room and want to stop in-between for some nonveg lunch. RRR has multiple branches in the city and is a well known restaurant for briyani among locals. So we had this eatery added in our Mysuru bucket list.

When we enter it was almost an empty place with only few of the tables occupied. Initially we had to search for a waiter...may be it was too early (just noon) for them. We were little worried about the taste as we never had a briyani in Karnataka earlier and everything seems to be sweeter including sambar over here. Got a plate of chicken briyani (155₹) , mutton briyani (175₹) and chicken chilly (145₹). Surprised to hear they don't serve any egg based dishes.

Chicken briyani was not amazing, but a good one for hungry travelers like us. Quite surprised to pick so many cloves on it. Mutton briyani got a bit more of spices, and had bigger pieces of meat. Both mutton and chicken pieces were cooked upto the level of perfection. Most interesting part is the onion raita. It had more curd than onion and the curd was super buttery. Accompanied gravy was just ok.

Still regret for ordering chicken chilly which was semi gravy and sweeter instead of spicy. Should have ordered for a chicken fry which must have become a perfect pair with briyani. Not sure if it's the best place in Mysuru for briyani, but worthy to taste their chicken briyani on every Mysuru visit.
