Gopu Iyengar Tiffin Center
What to eat: Vellayappam, Thavalai Vadai, Bun Halwa and Plain/Ghee/Rava Dosai
Location: Gopu Iyengar Tiffin Center, West Chittirai St, Madurai
Verdict: Gopu Iyengar is always famous for vellayappam (Fried rice and lentil ball) and Kara(spicy) chutney. So bought some vellayappams for evening snacks and some thavalai vadai (fried lentil balls). The fried balls were pretty big and the green chilly chutney was very spicy as expected. Bun halwa melts like butter on the mouth. Also had a chance to have break fast on a different day when we had rava dosa, special dosa, ghee roast along with samar and coconut (ketti) chutney. Dosas' were very big, crispy and tasty as expected in a 50 years old food stall.
